It was in a great town by the name of Deadwood, South Dakota. The year was 1900 and the buildings were bright golden brown. Then the new guys came into town.
A man walked into the saloon covered in white, he was fully loaded with 2 pistols and a whip ready for a fight
Another man followed him in, covered in black with a cowboy’s hat. He was a preacher, he carried a bible and a gun but love he did not lack.
The outlaw of the town, they called him Jack, he killed anyone who talked about him smack. He was wanted and the men were their to bring him to justice so the town could win.
The mysterious duo was quick to beckon him out, with a reckoning to die.
But the men weren’t ready to say goodbye just yet. They started to fight each making a bet, who ever could last the longest was the new sheriff, but the loser was to be hanged, faster than an iron horse.
The preacher started praying for guidance, the cowboy in white started singing, and the outlaw started laughing with great ringing.
After a few tortuous minutes of this, 3 shots rang out, one missed the cowboy in white, one hit the outlaw in the heart and the last……….hit the preacher.
Don’t be fooled by this. The two men survived the bulled hit the preachers thy, were his bible was, so you don’t have to say goodbye to the cowboy preacher and the sweet singing cowboy of the Dakotas.
I wrote a poem about this because your music video inspired me. i used it in a book of cowboy poems i did for school.it about the music vidio between raising hell and amazing grace.i have a crush on you both and they should put you an the radio more. and you insired me to lear to play accustic guitar and the fiddle.
